You are German, right? You will get a landing visa. People traveling on an ROC passport do need a visa in advance, though. I should have thought you would know better than to think there was a Japanese embassy in Taiwan. Try Beijing. There is a Japanese pseudo-embassy in Taiwan.

Embassy or Cultural Office or whatever they call it, does it really matter? :?

Anyhow, if I don’t need a visa then I won’t need to go there anyhow. Thanks!
