Hi. I’m a hillbilly with little contact with the outside world so forgive me if this question is obvious.

I want to try out the paid membership of chat gpt but I’m skeptical of any service that offers re occuring payments via credit card. That’s why I limit my card use to one time purchases and us cash or 7 eleven for the rest. Id like a gift card that will let me make the one time purchase. I would like to be able to recharge it but that isn’t necessary. Where can I buy one in Kaohsiung/ pingtung area if such a thing is even available.

You could try something like this and generate card numbers specifically for the service:

I’ve used it many years ago but I’m not sure if you can do this with a Taiwanese bank account.

What I did is use my regular card and then cancelled the subscription. Still get the 30 days but it won’t get renewed. But as you say, you’re skeptical, so this option probably won’t appeal to you.

If one uses Wise, they also let you generate virtual cards. Can cancel the card right after the first purchase and generate another one.

So far I am being led to believe we don’t have those visa/master card gift cards that Walmart and Target offer in the United States which is usually used to pay scammers according to the anti scam YouTube channels
I will do the sign up the and then immediately cancel thing just to stop with accidental overcharges. but again the main reason I would like to not have reoccurring charges is because I don’t trust the dealer to honor that.
It’s hard to believe Tyler does not have Mastercard or VISA gift cards.
