Hi,
I have both a US passport and a Taiwan passport that has a overseas chinese stamp but I do not have a Taiwan ID card. From 2002 to 2006 I was residing in Taiwan on basis of my resident card. Then from 2006 to 2008 I went abroad so my resident card for Taiwan has expired and my entry and exit visa for my Taiwan passport has expired as well. Therefore in order to enter Taiwan I used a US passport with no visa. I can only stay for 30 days with no extensions. This is a pain in the neck because I would like to live in Taiwan long-term without having to leave every 30 days. So I have two options, I can get an visitor visa for my US passport or renew/reapply for resident card from my Taiwan passport.
I have two questions:
Is there an easy way to renew my resident card or will I need to apply for a new one? But in order to apply for a new one I will need to enter Taiwan with my Taiwan passport. But my Taiwan passport does not have entry exit visa. If I go to Hong Kong can I get an entry exit visa? What documents would I need?
I would to apply for a visitor visa in Hong Kong for my US passport. Is it true I need a outbound ticket? I play to stay at least 60 days and I haven’t book the outbound ticket. Can I get a visitor visa without it?
Thanks.
