Visitor Visa to ARC - New Law?

Just giving this one a bump as a friend is going to have to do a visa run fairly soon and he has no job lined up to come back to. He needs a new visitor visa to go job hunting. (he had a job but then they decided they couldn’t afford him etc etc).

Any news on getting visitor visas in Hong Kong, bangkok etc. I see from a few posts that Manilla is not so good at the moment.

is honesty the best policy - I am looking for work, or is dishonesty - I’m going to Taiwan for two months for pleasure, abetter bet?

I’ll let you know about Bangkok on Monday as I’ve just applied for the visitors visa. I’ll find out yes or no on Monday…I may have made a mistake writing down teacher as my employment but other than that I think I’ll be fine.

Written days later on Monday 21st March: Yes, I got the visitors visa however a possible worry is they took a photocopy of my credit card. Also employment prohibited will be written in the remarks section.
