There’s no question that vs. can be used correctly to suggest a contrast. But to simply use it to mean “and” is a case of non-natives extending the English language. The use of “vs.” in hip hop music-- contrasting styles thrown together-- is a very specific exception. If 14 year old Brits, Aussies, or Yanks (me) start using pEn_/t ButtR vs. J3hlEE it would be introducing non-standard English that may one day (heaven forbid) enter mainstream speech. But when Chinese do it— it’s clearly a mistake.
