Whoever thinks Taiwan is boring is clearly not paying close attention.

Although I am not a big fan of PX Mart, I do have a favourite store. Usually, PX Mart at 6:30 pm is packed with customers, but this particular store never gets a line because they have this cashier I call “the fastest cashier of the Wild West “. He’s a tall, buff, bald dude who looks like he’s participating in a contest to see who can scan products the fastest, even when there is no line.
I noticed that he has several fans on the PX Mart’s Google Maps entry, who call him “Bald Bro “or “Bald warrior “. Sadly, some people also complain that his service makes them feel pressured (he is always respectful when waiting for me to pay, so I think they are being too sensitive). I always wonder what his main motivation is for scanning items so quickly; is there a competitive product scanner community that I don’t know about?

There was a guy like this at the old RT mart. Hopefully he’s still there.
Maybe he changed to the smaller PX Mart? Or maybe that’s his rival (?) 
To become an educated and sophisticated member of society, and not a rough man spitting all over cakes?

For money , possibly. But honestly you could sell cakes on the side , if this guy does well yeah anyone can do it. And I know of a few foreigners in different markets doing it. 
He is a shuai ge though. If you are a shui ge or la mei with cleavage on show then its a big boost to business.

Before the COVID emergency, I remember seeing these two Italian guys, working as a team, in Taipei City selling tiramisu out of some coolers. I’d stop by to support them, buy some of their product, and chat. I was all in on this sort of venture until they started trash talking about Mr Zocatelli, one of my beloved Italian chefs at Zoca’s and later at Pizza Si. After that, no more supporting your little side hustle you trash-talking ^%!!&s!
