Is there a waiting list to get a full time certified infant babysitter, like a 保姆 where the child goes to some bodies house to be looked after all day? If so, how long and how much do they usually cost? My child is a Taiwan national if that makes a difference in terms of government babysitters.
No centralized waiting list that I know of.
We found ours through a community forum for the area we live in.
Ours is 20,000 a month.
Includes meals, diapers, baths.
But each nanny has their own rules about what is included and what is not. Ours won’t trim nails. YMMV.
If you are in Taipei,
There are similar sites for other cities.
I’d ask around for first hand recommendations, though.
A fellow dad in a parenting gc asked about finding a nanny or babysitter for a 3-1/2 yo. Does anyone have any more current recommendations than these?
I tried the findchildcare.taipei link but didn’t get anywhere.
[!note]- What Perplexity explained to me about this City-run service
FindChildCare.taipei is Taipei City Government’s official nanny matching platform run by the Department of Social Welfare. It helps parents find certified, legal, and qualified childcare providers.Key points:
- Purpose: Search and match with vetted home-based caregivers (nannies) across Taipei.
- Search features: Filter by district, care type (e.g., full-time, part-time, temporary), and other criteria.
- Temporary care: The platform supports finding short-term/occasional childcare options.
- How it works: Select your needs, submit a request/booking, and a suitable caregiver will be arranged with follow-up confirmation.
- Related resources: Taipei’s parenting/childcare site also provides info on subsidies, parenting centers, and other support services.
And that 2023 Bananny seems to be unlinked.
