He updated his GoFundMe with more details. He claims his wife took $600k USD from him and that his in-laws abused and beat his two kids. He also says that the in-laws trained his kids to hate him. So I’m guessing that he is “dead” to his kids and they aren’t talking to him anymore.
Wow, what is the GoFund Me for exactly? Ticket to leave Taiwan or lawyer to get the kids back or ?? I thought those things gad to be specific
Also, his social media posts seem rather unstable. Yes, I and many others here have had our issues with TW society, but this guy’s story esp about his “$600K in checks” sounds questionable at best. The no bank acct and no car for you cuz you’re a foreigner also sound sus, 5 mins of reading here or with Google search would have convinced him of it. I could go on, but it’s late and I’m tired. I wish this guy the best, but that might take some prof help.

Doubtful. Unfortunately I knew an expat Dad who was similar. Had two great kids and a good business but couldn’t appreciate it. Drank too much, talked too much, blamed others for his shortcomings and setbacks, and just gave off the impression he only cared about himself. This is a guy who wanted to be my friend and talked my ear off the 1 or 2 times I had drinks with him (albeit always about himself), but when we invited his family to my daughter’s birthday party he looked miserable the whole time and so affected the mood my wife asked that we stop hanging out with him. He eventually lost it and moved back to his home country without his family, and was even institutionalized there for a while. His Taiwanese ex-wife now raises their kids alone here.
So, without knowing him, my feeling is there’s a lot more to this Alonzo’s story. I don’t think the in-laws need to influence his kids much, when he’s clearly acting mental. If they can get on social media, they can probably see their Dad claiming they’ve been killed, whether that’s meant figuratively or literally almost being beside the point.
Look at how this loon starts his GoFundMe. “US citizen- Disbelief- Foreign community are mostly twats”… sure, that’ll endear you to the very people you’re appealing to for donations. I feel bad for the kids and hope they can have a stable upbringing. Anyone giving this clown money is a fool.
