I can confirm xP
So I was reading that they are predicting the monsoon season will be delayed or won’t come at all. How can they predict something like that over a month before it happens? I personally don’t think these long range forecasts are always so accurate. I’m guessing that they are just hedging their bets and going with water rationing just in case.
And just to be sure, this will not be for Taipei City, only New Taipei and Taoyuan, right?
Hong Kong meteorology service is predicting 7 typhoons and a long, hot summer. Superb… not.
Here at the office, they closed the traditional squat toilets -use more water?- and reduced water pressure. I remember when they also had the idea of using touch/spray faucets to wash one’s hands… that you had to hit 7 times to get the job done, forget about brushing your teeth with that. Our drinking water has also been reduced.
If the gment wanted to set an example and do something useful, this bunker -and many other gment buildings- would be perfect for collecting rainwater on the roof -along with the decorative solar panels- so that it could be used for the lawns and trees and toilets and car washing . Therefore, we would have enough water to wash our hands and prevent the spread of all kinds of nasties…

It’s all part of the universal balance.
Winter 2013/14 -> absurd amount of rain here in Yilan
Summer 2014 -> 3 typhoons, 2 of them did basically nothing, one dropped a lot of rain but nothing major
WInter 2014/15 -> very modest amount of rain here
Summer 2015 -> impending doom
More rain. It looks like it’s also raining over central Taiwan, which is much needed (I guess that all that water will be distributed by rivers to the places where it’s needed).
Tomorrow looks drier that today though. The water reserves are growing very slowly, but hopefully tomorrow we will see better data, for it’s refreshed at 00:00 AM and last night it was raining quite a lot (I think).

During these kind of days I feel the same xP
Having some nice steady rain here in Xinzhuang. The Shihmen catchment isn’t getting so much, although that green band is slowly creeping westward as the day goes on.
Water restores very slowly until the soil is saturated, then it speeds up … I’ve the prove right here on the mountain, at dry periods there is an area where there is not waterflow, when it starts raining and continues, after a few days then suddenly a ‘well’/‘spring’ will start producing water, it’s literally a hole in the mountain producing water and will do so for several days or weeks, depending on the amount of rain fallen from the sky.
My dogs use it to drink, they like it … it flows off into a bucket put there by a farmer.
So how’s the situation after all this water? Any improvement?
