I am going to mail a letter to someone that I want to give the option of adding me on the Line app.
To add me they can do a phone number search but what are some other ways to add a Line contact (other than scanning the QR code and doing a phone number search)?

Give them your ‘username / Line ID’ if you don’t want to give out your phone number.
Just remember in the Privacy settings you have to make your ID “searchable” otherwise they will not be able to find you.
Another way is by going to the Home screen of the Line app, tap on the add friend icon at the top right corner then on Invite.
You’ll have 3 options: Text Message, Email or Share.
I’ve recently had to use it by email and it worked accordingly.
If he has a mutual friend, a friend can also send the contact directly for adding.
If you are physically mailing a letter to someone, you can also just print off the QR code from a screenshot onto paper and include it in the letter. It works.
If email, then just simply email the screenshot of the QR code.
