WCIF a gingerbread house kit

I might have missed it but i didn’t see any at costco neihu. i think it would be a pain to track down brown sugar,
dark molasses, peppermint candy , gum drops and candy canes here.

Ginger cookies, sugar, some random candy and chocolates and sticky stuff.
Sorted.

Carrefour. Here is their catalog:

brown sugar: every bloody supermarket, DIY baking store and Costco

molasses: Wellman’s and Willie’s, for the Mild stuff, which works well. Some DIY shops may have blackstrap (avoid, IMO).

peppermint candy, gum drops and candy canes: Try Wellman’s, Willies and DIY shops. Jason’s usually has some candy canes around this time. These are unnecessary, of course. We didn’t use any purchased candies in making our last gingerbread house, which looked lovely decorated with nuts and piped icing.

Saw them being sold in IKEA (Taichung branch), in the Swedish food supermarket bit. They had one assembled in a case, looks great though I think it’s just the house; candy is not included.

Thanks guys. I’ll try Ikea and Carrefour. While I enjoy making them from scratch, running to 5 different stores trying to buy all ingredients is what I was trying to avoid, especially going up to Tianmu.

Understood; I tend to list the WCIF info anyway, as it benefits others, either now or in the future, and not necessarily just the OP.

Watsons has boxes of candy canes. They are the bigger ones, though. They would look good on a tree, but probably too big for a gingerbread house.

Costco Xizhi has big tubs of tiny canes, dirt cheap.

Carrefour had a really small one for 150. Ikea had a bigger one for 150 plus 30 for powdered sugar. Ikea’s kit doesn’t include powdered sugar so you need to buy it separately. Wish i’d realized that before i left the store. Blasted Swedes.

IMEI has the boxed kits in several different sizes. I cant recall the prices though.
