WCIF Canadian bacon (back bacon)?

Is there anywhere in Taipei where I can get Canadian bacon, also called back bacon? (It’s the kind of bacon that’s simply known as “bacon” in the UK, as opposed to streaky bacon, which comes from pork belly.)

I’ve tried Jason’s, Breeze, CostCo, and Carrefour to no avail.

Churchill’s Sausages sells imported British back bacon. I’ve bought the bacon from their little stall in the Tianmu / Zhishan Station Carrefour (in the deli-ish section, first floor); it looks like they also deliver. Off-topic, but I liked their lamb patties a lot.

Mild hassle with the (very good!) back bacon: it’s imported frozen, which means once you defrost, you should probably go through it all in a week or less.

I haven’t seen rashers but the streaky bacon in chuan nian - the taiwan brand, is good.

Oh and they have black pudding too! Perfect!!!

Thank you!

Why have I never heard anybody say “back bacon” or “streaky bacon”?

Americans call them “Canadian bacon” and “bacon” (respectively), while Brits call them “bacon” and “streaky bacon”. “Back bacon” is more of a technical term.

I’ve been told by Canadians that the Costco packs are the best available. Not tried them myself.

EDIT: “Oh, Canadian back bacon.”

I picked up both back bacon and black pudding at Churchill’s in the Tianmu Carrefour. And a pork pie. Thumbs up!
