Prompted by the lack of countryside there, I have just moved here from Shanghai.
I have a fair bit of money still stuck in my bank account in the mainland. Although I can access it from other countries (say when I’m back home in the UK or transferring via HK), I was wondering, is there is any way of drawing money from it from a cash point ATM that accepts China Union Pay?
Well, have you tried a bunch of different ATMs? Various banks here have varying support for foreign cards.
It’s never quite straightforward to tell what card works with which bank though, it’s a trial and error process.
Yes, I tried Citibank which has a global deal with Union Pay but apparently it doesn’t include Taiwan.
I was hoping maybe that someone here might already have found this out, saving me the problem of trial and error.
