WCIF Electronic Government Unified Invoice software

Been doing the invoices (統一發票) manually, which is a drag and takes time. Plan to travel (locally and internationally) a lot this coming year, so need to do these invoices online.

Internet searches on how to get these electronic invoice numbers have only yielded information on brokers who do the invoicing on your behalf. I do not want to add middlemen for a non-productive and recurring admin activity: that would add costs and potentially compromise relationships with my customers.

Edit: Just to preempt - Did talk to CPA who signed off on my registration, the best they could offer was to introduce me to brokers.

Any ideas on how I can apply for the electronic invoice numbers and any related software needed?

Turns out there’s something on the https://www.einvoice.nat.gov.tw website.

Am gonna wade into the murky depths and update the posting.

Hi, I’d be interested to know how your experience went on this  @humpty

I went back to paper invoices after having to do too much fiddling to get stuff working. Fortunately my invoice volume is low. Might have another stab at it later when work settles down.

Printing invoices through software is not easy, local software (POS) companies have the knowledge to connect your POS to the printer, be it the ones that are directly connected to the tax server and are able to print receipts or the original paper receipts. I tried to make a POS software system created abroad interact with the certified/registered receipt printer, never succeeded, so I just bought a POS system and software from a POS company in Taiwan, although bilingual (English/Mandarin) as the company was a branch from an international company.

I guess if you have the connected digital system you can skip the printer. Just look for a local POS company that can help you with the setup of digital receipts/invoices.
