WCIF Lan Zhou beef noodles?

I’m surprised that this is so elusive! Most Taiwanese don’t seem to know what the dish is.
It’s a clear beef la mien, with chili oil and white radish.

And cumin and cilantro

Google maps gives a few hits if you search for 蘭州拉麵.

On a related note, does anyone know whether there’s something similar in Taipei to the Lanzhou noodle places you see all over China? The ones that usually have a green sign outside, picture menu, and run by Muslims. I’m not sure if it’s an actual chain or not, but I miss those places.

Unfortunately I don’t think those kind of restaurants exist in Taiwan. Meibanfa…

There is still an excess of good noodle shops though.

They don’t have these in taiwan. chinese people came from china to taiwan with the kmt after ww2, doesn’t seem to be too many recent chinese opening restaurants in taiwan. So taiwan has a lot of good chinese food missing. When i was in shanghai last november i told the staff in a lanzhou la mian restaurant to open up shop in taiwan. they were curious to see some NTD. they were totally clueless.
