WCIF Shoe Goo?

HI All: I need to do some lexan plastic repair, and am told that Shoe Goo is the best method. Anyone know where to find here in Taipei? (The last post on the topic is YEARS old). BR Jerry

Most general purpose adhesive is in fact shoe goo… comes in a tube or in a can that is usually yellow on the outside.

Is that like contact adhesive but stronger? The kind you smear thinly on both parts, let dry, then press firmly together? If so, ask for 強力膠 qiang2li4jiao1 at any hardware store (usually something in a short can that says brand name + “bond”; about $70NT). Follow the instructions in [url=http://tw.forumosa.com/t/shoemaker-cobbler-needed/24540/11 linked post[/url] and the subsequent post.

Shoo Goo is the best glue I have found for repairing sneakers etc.

I first started using it in the 80s while at school!

I found it here about 3 years ago (previously bought some on a visit to Japan). Taipei - Near Warner Village. The shopping blocks with the designer boutiques you pass before you get to WV (coming from the MRT). On the top floor of one of them is/was? a Japanese kind of brick-a-brac store selling all kinds of things from Japan. I can not remember the name, but I am sure it begins with ‘H’.
There they sold Shoe Goo in black. It was about 300NT. I still have it.

Shoe Goo is now available in Taiwan.
Their website is: www.shoegoo.com.tw.
There’s a link on the site to an online shop called ASAP.
Yes, it’s great stuff for all kinds of fixes! Hope this helps.

In my experience Shoe Goo repairs (to shoes) do not last long. I’ve had much more success with Freesole, a urethane-based product. You can get it at some camping stores here.

skaters use shoe goo to coat the toe of their shoe to protect it from abrasion.

By the way guys: I found some at Jimi Skateshop on 4th ave. Mr Luthiers to the rescue again.
