Nah, I just saw that and thought that it was weird. I wasn’t aware of the mechanism having been used before. I was trying to think of its downsides (apart from it being ugly), but I guess that if it’s not new and it was disregarded there might be some good reasons for that.

Wait until people realize that a spinning motion of feet gives better balance than trying to push up and down without it.
And legs get sore from less motion but more focused in one direction.
