My bathroom needs a new door, just one of those cheap, white plastic doors, nothing fancy. Anybody knows where to get one, were to look for one and how much a door costs?
Try B&Q.
If you were looking for wooden doors (in Taibei) I would advise you to visit the stretch of Ningxia Road north of Jinxi Street in Datong District.
Jim Morrison is alive and well and teaching kindy in Taichung. I’m not sure if he makes house calls but I bet he would have to use your bathroom by the time you get there.
Most neighborhoods have a little wood and hardware shop, that also carry trim and doors and wood and stuff. Walk around for a bit and find one. Bring your measurements and the door can be cut to fit (ckeap wooden door)
Or just go to B& Q. Always bring the measurments and you shall be fine. If there’s a hole for the doorknob, bring that measurment as well.
Thanks, I walked around my neighbourhood and had a closer look at all the signs and shops. I found a “雜貨店” who does doors as well, there is also a shop specialized in all kinds of doors on the corner of Keelong and Guangfu, across the street from Tonghua night market. It was not opened on Sunday, but I’ll check it out this week.
BTW, I want plastic for the bathroom because the current wooden door is rotting away.
Also the small neighborhood furniture shops have a lot of catalogs they can order goods from that they don’t normally have in stock. Usually they can get those items the next day.
Hi,
I am trying to find trim measuring 1 inch X 1 inch for around a door. I looked at B&Q in HsieTien but they do not carry the size I am looking for. (BTW, they have reduced their floor space by 50% and their stock accordingly.) Does anyone know if the B&Q in Neihu has the size I need?
I also went to the store in the corner of Keelung and Hoping but they carry the same size range as B&Q Hsientien. I then walked around Keelung, Hoping, and LeLi Street on a wild goose chase today, spurred at every turn buy directions from well-meaning but ill-informed locals. Grrr…
Any suggestion would be appreciated! Thank you.
