Even if the giant squid in its maw is having a less-than-good day. Apparently first video of the [aftermath of] legendary battles we’ve all read about.
Rounder is my whale of the day! A sperm whale mother, as of July 2023, but the research was only just published. Scientists lucked into witnessing a sperm whale birth, which a bunch of whales gathering to take turns holding the baby up for its first few hours, when it can’t yet swim properly.

If anyone follows German news, you might know that there was a whale rescue operation going on in the Baltic Sea. Experts weren’t hopeful to rescue the giant, but now it is gone. Probably managed to free itself during the night. They tried to help the humpback whale with excavators for days.
Jeez… anyone following the shit show that is the effort to rescue stranded whale Timmy?
For a while, they were saying, “it is to weak and sick, let it die.” Now they are still trying to get it to the Atlantic?

Latest Timmy news. The whale swam on its own into a floated barge to get a lift to the North Sea or Atlantic and to join another group of whales there. Amazing how self-proclaimed experts have chimed in to say completely opposite things over the last weeks. Public pressure has lead to this action. If that was big shark or crocodile, people would just have it die. Cute-animal privilege…
