Hello everyone,
This fall I plan to come to Hsihchu to do a Master degree. So I would kindly ask to share your impressions about this place (I got myself familiar with some general issues, so don’t be afraid to be more specific). More particurarly, I’m interested in questions that are relevant to leasing an appartment as an option for living, like the prices (mid-lower segment) or the best time for looking for an appartment and the best info sources and ways to make a deal.
I’ll be thankful for any kind of helpful information or opinions on living there.
I know in Xinzhu they spell apartment with only one “p”. Hope that helps!
frost, come on man, the guy is obviously not a native speaker.
Ryan, I don’t live in Hsinhcu but there are others on Fcom who do and should be able to help you. Be patient though as it is summer and many people are away. I believe there have been many threads on Hsinchu so do a search to begin.
Thank you. I’ll try to search for some info or try to find somebody who lived or lives there.
I’m a newcomer here and, as you correctly noticed, not a native speaker. So I hope I’ll not be judged too strictly for any spelling or grammar mistakes.
I live near xinzhu.
Most of people are Hakka people.
It is not a big city like Taichung.
But it is convenient for living.
You can find the reliable house agent to look for an apartment for you.
Apartments near the universities are cheaper, especially if you share the apartment with other students.
Um… hasn’t the search function been disabled? Or is that just on my computer?
It’s a lie, search does work.
Ohmigod, everyone, nemesis has a gun and he wants all our money, or he’ll pop a saxum in our headd.
Shen me? ![]()
By the way, he is a SHE…
self edit: Just realized what you’re talking about.
And it’s a catapult. I’m too timid to carry a gun.
Carry on.
PM me, I could answer some of your questions if we chat online, ICQ or Skype is fine. Sorry, I don’t feel like writing a complete review of Hsinchu life.
Just curious, but if you write your thoughts on ICQ it doesn’t count as writing?

For me, answering several specific questions in Russian is easier than writing a comprehensive post in English.
