Do you have a positive or negative view of Hillary? On the positive side, she has earned the respect of Republicans in Congress for her ability to compromise, which is key to progress. On the negative side, she is a polarizing figure who can divide Americans as much as Bush.
Frankly speaking, I think having Hillary as president is a bit scary. She seems controlling, too managed of a candidate, and can even be a flip flopper. I don’t really trust what she says. What she says doesn’t reflect her true inner beliefs. For example, at a televised faith forum on religion in New Hampshire held among Obama, Edwards, and herself, the way she presented herself as “being a strong prayer” looked very fake. She told the audience and the moderator that she once prayed to God that she can lose weight.
Obama was much more sincere and genuine on the faith issue.
I much prefer Obama. The day Hillary becomes president may be the day I move out of the country.
I must state, I have not been following the debates within the democrats. So my point of view is really from the outside.
I think being able to still be around on the political scene proved she has been able to handle a very tricky situation for her career and wedding. Knowing what she wants and managing to achieve her goal means she knows how to adapt.
She seems to be quite clever and experienced (not like our Segolene Royal)
I m quite surprised that this faith issue has such a big importance for an election. She might not be genuine but who really is ? They all told lies at some points. Some really bigger than others if you know who I mean.
Whoever the next president will be, it is not going to be easy on him/her. Good luck
I’m pretty well opposed to most of her politcal positions, and I’m not too high on the idea of another legacy president, so those are big negatives. On the other hand, I have more confidence in her general competence and real world understanding of the president’s job at this point than I do the other two leading democrats, so to my great surprise I actually could end up voting for her if the repbublicans don’t come up with something decent.
The only thing I don;t like about her is her record of support for the Iraq war. Her reputation of being cold, calculating, self-indulged and domineering comes from oft-repeated smears by the right and has no basis in fact.
I probably won’t vote for her in the primaries because I believe there are better choices. But if she wins the Democratic nomination, then yes, I will most assuredly vote for her on Election Day. After all, the only other choice would be a Republican, and I love my country too much to vote Republican.
Not good. Above average intelligence and unbridled opportunism seem to be her only virtues and I’m not sure that’s enough to qualify her to be president.
I had the strangest dream last night that I was talking to Hilary and told her that I was a lifelong Republican but was considering voting for her this next election. We had a very nice chat and she seemed like a very nice person and then this sort of gelled into a presidential debate and the woman that came on stage with her two children later and was dancing and acting around like an idiot making stupid jokes and trying to be cute brought the same sigh and a shared look of mutual contempt for said Democrat candidate. Great to be friends with Hilary. I hope she keeps me in mind when she is in the White House. It is my dream…
She is actually the dream Dem for fred- she’ll keep the war in Iraq cooking, and probably try to get one started in Iran, if George hasn’t left her the legacy.
She’s everything I loathe in American politics. She’s a professional politician, she’s acting the role she and her minders think she should to win the top gig, and yet so awfully transparent. By the way, what is it about AmeriKKKa and a ruling class?
