We have many sparrows flying around our building all the time, and they love to chill out on our balcony and on the outdoor unit of our air conditions.
I’d like to give them something to eat, so that I could setup the camera and take some close up pics of those sparrows. They’re cute, and they help getting rid of flying bugs!
What kind of food can I give them?
I think seeds like sun flower seeds works.
Flying bugs?
Sparrows eat mostly grains and seeds, as well as livestock feed and, in cities, discarded food. Among the crops they eat are corn, oats, wheat, and sorghum. Wild foods include ragweed, crabgrass and other grasses, and buckwheat.
I’m not a huge fan of sunfloweer seds, but here we often eat corn. Looks like next time I have some leftovers I’ll put them in a small lunchbox on mu outside unit, hopefully they’ll like them.
