What TV are you watching (2020)?

,

I’m currently rewatching I, Claudius, inspired by I, Podius, a podcast recap of the show by Elliot Kalan (former writer on the Daily Show, writer of the recent Mystery Science Theater, also on the podcast The Flophouse) and John Hodgman (Judge John Hodgman podcast, my goodness, can you tell I consume a stupid amount of podcasts?).

I, Claudius is an historical drama about the early days of Imperial Rome. It remains brilliant, with fantastic writing; stellar acting from Sian Phillips, Derek Jacobi, Brian Blessed, a shockingly young John Hurt, and many many others; the historical accuracy of Game of Thrones; and the production values of your elementary school class play.

And I’m not sure if it’s an indictment or complimentary of my mother and father’s parenting style that that show must have been one of my earliest sources of information about the birds and the bees. “Mommy, what’s little boy Caligula doing with his sister, and why is it bad?”
