What's the JFRV good for?

Does the JFRV make it easier for you to stay in the country?
I just went through another botched-up ARC scare while in the process of moving to a new school. Even though I’ve been in the country for seven years, it’s still a nightmare to go through the work-related ARC every time.
Does the JFRV ARC make life any easier? If it’s only valid for one or two or three years at a time, what keeps you from being deported? Does a JFRV give you the same rights as an open work permit?

So, basically, does the JFRV make it more difficult for them to kick you out, or could you just as well just get married and stay on on your old job ARC?

A JFRV gives you a valid reason to stay in Taiwan AND open work rights. And although the first one is usually only valid for one year, after that 3 years is the norm. During those three years, you don’t even have to live in Taiwan if you don’t want to, and this doesn’t affect your right to stay and work here, unlike a PARC (Permanent Resident ARC) which requires that you stay in Taiwan at least 6 months of the year.

I doubt you’d be kicked out of the country while being a JFRV holder unless you were engaged in criminal activities.

Wait, I know this one…

ABSOLUTELY NOTHIN’!
(huh!)
Say it again!!!
