The only thing I ever bought in Taiwan were shinguards and I got them directly from the gym I was training at that time. They bulk ordered their stuff from Thailand. It was cheap, noname stuff though.
If I’d need to buy new training gear right now I’d probably just order online. They have top quality brands like Twins and Windy for reasonable prices. Even including the shipping from Thailand the prices are still ok (don’t know about the price range in Taiwan, but I even ordered stuff there, got it shipped to Germany, paid taxes and it was still cheaper than buying the same article in Germany).
They also have good package deals, that could come in handy in your case since you need to buy a lot of stuff.

I am planning to buy some equipment before leaving taiwan for good.

They have a lot of boxing gloves, straps, shorts and stuff at TMMA (Taipei Mix Martial Arts), it’s located behind fuxing sogo, I think the address is Ren Ai rd. sec 4 alley 27 no. 22… you can probably find them on fb…
I know that might sound stupid, but seriously ask Sam Wong, he is Thai and he used to do Thai Boxing. I’m not kidding!
If you’re in Taichung. You can contact Martin at Taichung Muay Thai. He buys good quality equipment from Thailand or Hong Kong and won’t charge you much extra.
