I’m working on making some mead (and melomel using persimmons from my garden) but I’m having trouble finding raw, untreated honey. Everything I find in stores is processed in some way (heated or preservatives, etc added), so it’s not ideal for mead. I mean it’s useable, but I’d rather find the real deal. I have seen the odd collection of hives around where I live, but there’s never anyone around for me to ask - they’re always in the middle of farmland with no buildings nearby. Google said there was a honey business near where I work, but the building seems to have vanished. Any leads?
