Where can I find... soft shell pet travel bag max. 23cm / 9inch high?

Been looking up and down Shopee, Momo etc., but all pet travel bags I find are significantly higher than the 23cm required by Turkish Airlines. Also tried Amazon Germany, since I’ll be there before needing the bags.

Preferably not too small, the limits are 23 cm high, 30 cm wide and 40 cm long.

Similar requirements seem to exist in the US, and people are recommending certain brands that unfortunately I can’t find in Taiwan (or Germany).

The one product of a brand “Petsfit” I found available only shows up in sales listings that look rather suspect to me (ultra high price, claiming to have thousands available, photos and description not matching, shipping from China, …)

Thank you very much! Unfortunately, it seems 27 cm high, and thus higher than the allowed 23cm.

Laying it down on the side is unfortunately not an option, since the “bottom” side must be leak-proof (pee-proof).

It’s soft so you can actually fold it in like 4 cm. IATA approved gear should be allowed on most airlines.

I agree with you, it can probably fold.

Sorry, some more context: I already have bags that are slightly larger, and I plan to do what you suggested (try using these and fold a bit).

Additionally, I’m trying to get bags that fit the specifications 100% as a backup, in case Turkish Airlines will act difficult.

Edit: For whatever reason, all of the pet carriers listed there are way over 23cm high… I guess they didn’t care if 23cm is the width or the height.

Length/width should be more important, it needs to fit within the space of a seat. And a pet should be able to stand up sometime during travel. 23cm is not a lot.

There is a small Amazon Basics brand and a small Sherpa Deluxe on the US Amazon site, but it ships to Taiwan. Not sure about Germany’s Amazon.

Hi, did you have any luck finding the right bag as I’m flying Turkish this year with my dog and am having the same issue as you either too long or not very wide and still too long just curious if you found it

Well, yes and no. I settled for something slightly bigger, and had no problems. Will post details later.

It’s slightly wider than specified by turkish airlines, but noone cared when checking in. It fits under the seat perfectly when laying it down on the “back” side.

We were extremely lucky to have two rows of 3 seats each for us and the 2 kitties. So we mostly kept them together in an additional, bigger bag that we had brought with us. Only for take off and landing we put them separately in this kind of bag

Thank you so much! Yeah I’m thinking for a couple of centimetres it should be fine and I was planning on having a bigger one to move him into onboard if needed!
