Where can I get more Past News?

Hi guys. I’m curious about Yahoo news why they are showing latest news only? If I’m not mistaken, I can’t easily find the past news in yahoo.

  1. Is there specific way to find TW news out in yahoo?
  2. Is there any other news portal(website) for past TW news?

Search on Google, click news, there’s a tools button, then change the sorting order from recent to custom range, and select the date range.

but I need the Taiwanese(language) news. I wanna know if there is news portal in TW.

I don’t think Taiwan has a prominent news portal. Yahoo and PCHome used to be pretty big in the early 2000s. However, the “news portal” ship has sailed a long time ago. Also, if you want news from the past, news portals don’t seem to be the way to go.

I solely use Google, since the custom range function allows me to see how an event was reported before someone tried to turn it into a political attack. Also, I get to see how a piece of news is reported by both sides.

If you want to go really old school, try out this news portal

This is the OG news portal in Taiwan.

There are some very old threads here with links to articles in Taipei Times and similar which still work, so the articles are still out there, just a matter of navigating to them, (or using a search engine with results limited to that desired site).

I would like to know if there is any other option like google news. I’ll give you my example.

  1. Search google ‘TSMC’
  2. go to news tab
  3. tool → custom range
  4. set the specific past date.

Actually, google news is not enough for me to use. Best example is Yahoo but for ‘news searching’ is not providing with long period.

Anybody knows, please let me know.

If you have an academic account, you can use your university’s resources to browse the News databases.

If you want news from prior to 1949, there are also databases for those. Although since you gave TSMC as an example, I guess that’s not what you are looking for.
