Why are you outraged that humans are in zoos, only one out of a billion animal species on this planets, when literally thousands of our mammalian and avian and reptilian brothers are in chains as we speak? Where is the outrage? Is it right that such noble beasts as tigers and crocodiles live in chains? How would you feel if you were imprisoned? No wonder our panda brothers can’t even get it up! HG you are right that is pretty amazing that those people were stuck in a zoo. However they weren’t actually in a cage but still yeah that is very dis-respectful. Pygmies were on the news other day ( a small report) for being used as mine workers and being paid only by cigarettes food and water. While everyone else got paid.
But i guess we are all more interested in Madonna, Paris Hilton and evil western men taking advantage of sweet innocent Chinese girls ha ha

In any case, there’s simply no way they can get across the river to hang out in the trendy Bohemian cafes of the Left Bank in Kinshasa when they’re locked up in a zoo, now is there? Don’t they have decent wine and cheese in the Congo? I mean surely if they did Fred would have been there, right, and we would hear no end of prattling concern for these victims.
Well since I note no little stools at that elite club, they may prefer swimming in the pygmie penguin pools back at the zoo for now. But that’s because no one, absolutely no one is making any effort to make them feel welcome. These are dancers and musicians ferchrissake, arty types. They need their Bohemian fix and some recognition, dammit!
Well of course not; pygmies use the toilet like everyone else and naturally, that will be out back and out of site. Incidentally, would pygmies produce little stools because they are little? I think little people are capable of producing big stools just like big people. It depends how much one eats, does it not?

Brazzaville: before you make another comment on the cool name, try and read up on the history of the Congo and the story of Belgian and French interests and involvement in the area. Makes for some very interesting bed-time stories.
Africa had a hell of a time under some of its European occupiers. While there are many that say that Africa is better off without them, and I can see how their presence sowed some of the seeds of the chaos that exists there now, I can wholeheartedly say that in most cases (apart from the Congo and the Ivory Coast: Francophile countries now) the colonial times in Africa were far more secure times for almost all people involved. I am not condoning the rape of resources at the time, which was blatant and ruthless, viz the Congo, but the shitfight that exists there now is far far worse than anything in the 50s and 60s.
I should mention that I spent much time in southern and eastern Africa in the 70s and in the 90s.
Then maybe you could tell us if it’s true that along with all the resources the white people inadvertently left in the ground, China is also eating the pygmies?
Is it possible the zoo was just a holding pen before these poor, cute little people were sent to the food markets of Guangzhou? Following their babies into the pot, as it were.
And Broon, I take your point, but these pygmies have pygmy bowels too, they’re not like midgets, which only have stumpy limbs, these are proportioned little people. To put it more simply, there aint no room to store big stools up there.
