Where should I put my money?

I’ve a lot of money sitting in Chang Hwa Bank. It just accumulated there and I’ve been avoiding managing it. I’d be more comfortable with it in a non-Taiwanese bank. Call me paranoid. Where can I put it so that it will appreciate, so that I can access it anywhere, and so that I can avoid US taxes on it?

Really doesn’t matter where you put it. If you are a US citizen, your investment income is taxable no matter where in the world you or your investment are. The only way for US citizens to legally avoid taxes on investments are via IRAs and 401ks and certain tax exempt bonds. But oops, most expats can’t invest in IRAs if they use the foreign income exclusion, and they can’t invest in 401ks unless they work for an American company.
