Americans are required to file taxes on money they make abroad. I haven’t been in the USA for a couple years but I’m still required to file my taxes. I didn’t work in 2023 so I’m not sure if that will make things difficult or not. What website would you recommend to do American taxes?
Depends how complicated your taxes are. If it’s simple and you don’t make too much, doesn’t matter much - pick a free one and go to town:
Otherwise turbotax, taxact, taxslayer, h&r block, etc, etc are all fine.

I looked through a few of those free filing sites but found they don’t account for those of us living abroad. This one, however worked pretty well for me:
If your taxes are simple, just print the forms you need and fill them out. If you make < 100k and were in America < 30 days the entire year, you qualify for the foreign earned income exclusion.
