Yes. It was assessed by an external committee to judge its merits.
She stated she wanted the degree revoked. There was no legal provision to do so. Now, following the external review, the university has apparently acted.
Why she feels the way she does is something I cannot comment upon. But based on the other comments below the story linked above, her approach does not seem to have been warmly received.
