Aka, nearly everywhere “developed and civilised”
LOL. That too.
Have you ever read Ivan Illich’s Deschooling Society? Incredibly prophetic and naive at the same time: in 1971 he predicted the rise of online learning with uncanny accuracy (from the very informal medium of YouTube through to virtual universities and remote one-on-one tuition) while failing to realise that most people, given the choice, would rather watch PornHub and cat videos.

and PornHub is profoundly educational too, I guess?
No doubt it’s just a David Attenborough documentary for your sort …
I actually agree with you though. I think cute animal videos are profoundly useful in countries where thoughtless (or deliberate) animal abuse is the norm.
Are you trying to say: I think cute porn videos are profoundly useful in countries where thoughtless (or deliberate) sexual abuse is the norm.
I think you’re getting somewhat confused here
It’s just my unscientific opinion, but I’ve noticed attitudes to animals in Taiwan have changed markedly since the rise of cat-based entertainment on YouTube. Maybe it’s just a coincidence.
Just messing around. And i agree. Although i suspect the reason is as related to cat videos on youtube as womens rights improvements here are to porn hehe. Certainly internet seems about the biggest game changer in the rise of many moral causes in the past couple decades, all jokes aside.
