Hello there, I hope everyone is having a great time.
I will be graduating from a top private university here in Taiwan with a MSc degree in biomedical sciences.
Will it be realistic to find a job here in Taiwan after graduation?
I heard that it’s hard to find a job as an international specially after graduating from a private university(not the ones starting with “national”). so what are the odds? and where can I start looking for a job? I have attended few events but these weren’t really that useful for me.
I would appreciate any suggestions or advice, thank you so much.
Lots of vacancy in the food court
See what’s out there and let us know.
But if the opportunities don’t line up the way you like, don’t bang your head against the wall waiting for Taiwan’s wage structure to change for you! Find opportunities elsewhere.

Yes it’s realistic. Probably plenty of jobs but pay may be low and there are not many international employers here, will be with local companies . Depends on your options elsewhere.
Congrats on the degree! That said, a biomedical MSc from a private uni in Taiwan sadly won’t open many doors here… especially without native Mandarin. Lab jobs usually pay NT$35-45k/month and have limited growth. Ironically, teaching English (even without a science background) can easily get you NT$60k+ and a stable visa. A lot of people in your shoes end up going that route, not for passion, but because it actually pays the bills.
Just something to think about.
TAITRA sets up work fairs for international students around this time. Try to get to one. At worst, you’ll gain experience in job applications. And contacts.
This last is the most important. And I am not talking Linkedin. It is like looking for a house: while luck plays a part, you can focus on a company, a science park, then try to get to know someone in HR or at least someone inside who can tell you what they are looking for. Luckily, you’re in a field in demand.
And remember visa wise you can request at least 6 months extension to look for a job.

BTW, how is your Chinese?
Your teachers would be your best resources - let them know you are looking for a job in Taiwan. Also the Career Center at your university should be able to assist you.
