Few days ago I have a question which was answered. Thank you for everyone.
Now I have another question:
Before I came here , the agency told me that my employer paid for everything (all the fees, processing fees and all total of NTD 55,000) . They said , when I come to Taiwan and work for them I will have to pay it back from my salary . So when I arrived here for the first 6 months they deduct the amount of NTD 55,000 from my salary.
I just want to ask is this normal ?Is this how it works here i Taiwan ?
Also, they said they will refund it to me once I finish the contract of 3 years.
My license is caretaker here in Taiwan . But we have this verbal agreement that they will pay for everything first( processing fee, training fees and etc) the agency will not give us the breakdown but in total its around NTD 55,000. Most of what’s written in the contract particularly about salaries we had a verbal agreement because my job is not only a caretaker but caretaker/ tutor / business management.
If you are going to be a caretaker I would recommend you not coming to Taiwan. You will be expected to work 24/7 and possibly to subject to not very nice situations which my boarder on abuse.
For the little wage you will earn it is not worth coming to Taiwan.
Sorry I can not help with the exact question. But those oral agreements surely do sound fishy to me. I wish you find a good solution, and since you seem to be in Taiwan already, also a good employer that traeats you well and respectful (and at least gives you every Sunday off, as required by law)
What I read sometimes is that you are recommended to make sure you have your passport. If the agency keeps your passport, they could maybe try to pressure you by setting conditions for returning the passport to you. I tried finding articles or information about this, bit didn’t succeed… Maybe someoe can help out and tell whether or not this is an concern?
They were not holding our passports .
But i do really think they abused our rights because we are working from 6 am to 11:30 pm worst until 12.Whole day I am working into his office dealing with business matters and when we go home still helping with his kinds and still work with his business until 11:30 pm.Thts also Without a day off , he said there is a covid right now and its not safe to go out so my entire stay here i am not allowed to go out because of the current situation. And I am not alone, I also have workmates who have the same experiences. And what he always tell us he is paying us more than the regular Salaray in Taiwan.
