Are APRC holders able to work without a contract (already know without work permit is OK) at a school and still retain all benefits such as health insurance etc?
Thanks

Not to my knowledge. But I’d call the school and ask. Is this a part time or side job? Why no contract?
I am already working there, but my contract expired a few months ago. This is part time, but Ive always had health insurance with them.
When I ask about renewing, they dont respond or say theyll get back to me. Typical Taiwanese boss behavior.
I guess I will find out on the next pay slip if they are still paying their portion for health insurance.
So Im also wondering if they want to replace me, or if theyre trying to avoid paying for certain benefits.
The contract is between you and the school. Wether you have one or not, should not affect whatever benefits they are required to offer you. Unless, of course, this is a cram school which might be trying to weasel out of paying their portion of the health insure premiums.
Currently I don’t have a contract at a private high school. I pay my own insurance premiums because I work fewer than 13 hours. There’s no contract because the head of personnel had a stroke last year and is permanently gone. He’d been in the job for decades and no one knows anything about the job ![]()
Yup, it’s a cram school (of course) ![]()
On the other hand, since you have an APRC they may have realized that you’re free and there’s little they can do to control you. Unlike people with ARCs who are dependent on them.
