Is it just me or do you believe Israel’s govt overreacted to this story? Once we started banning all our leaders who pass out drunk, naked in public, tied up in bondage gear, surrounded by sex toys will there be any left to lead us? After all, who among us hasn’t been in the same position?
Israel has recalled its ambassador in El Salvador after he was found drunk, gagged and naked with sex toys lying nearby in the yard of his official residence, Israeli media reports.
A foreign ministry spokeswoman confirmed that the ambassador, Tsuriel Raphael, was recalled but offered no details. “The ministry sees his behaviour as unbecoming of a diplomat,” the spokeswoman said.
Israeli media reported that local police found Raphael in the yard of the official residence in San Salvador. The reports said he was drunk, naked, and bound and gagged with a rubber ball in his mouth and sex toys lying near him. . .
smh.com.au/news/world/drunk- … 18673.html
Finally! A valid possibility of the application of the “I have an alcohol problem” defense. Nobody believed it when Mark Foley and Ted Haggard blamed their pedophilia and homosexuality on having substance-abuse issues … but this guy was fortunately found drunk at the time! In past generations, his friends would have simply scribbled messages on his drunken body with marker pens and taken photos, but today’s kids, fuelled on extreme sports and “Jackass” clips took it to a new level.
See if a blood toxicology report on him is available.
Juice him up and leave him to be ‘discovered’ in a position such as this. Just looks too convenient.
This sounds like a job done on him by an intel service.
Of course it could just be a case of a good idea gone bad…
He is gay and single. What’s the big deal? I am sure many people within the diplomatic corps of many countries have engaged in a little S&M from time to time. Furthermore, he passed out outside of his own residence. If it wasn’t a work night, I don’t see what the big problem is. If his sexual orientation was public knowledge and this incident couldn’t be used for blackmail purposes, I don’t think he should have been recalled. The incident was handled very discreetly in El Salvador…it was the press in Israel that broke the story. If public knowledge about sexual exploits prevented people from serving or led to their recall in the past, Israel would have lost a lot of great statesmen including Moshe Dayan (who certainly loved the ladies) etc.

Getting caught with a dead girl or a live boy will kill your political career…unless your name is Ted Kennedy.
Have to agree. Something not very kosher about this.
