About time someone was bold enough! It’s delicious and cheaper than Banqiao.
Which dish(es) did you enjoy?
Guy
Comparing to Banqiao’s Masala Zone (the best naan in Taiwan) and Red Fort (imo, the best Chicken Tikka Masala and food quality for the buck, but the worst naan and flatbreads for some reason ):
- Chicken Lababdar (thick brown cashew curry) == 5/5 (just awesome)
- Masala Zone + Red Fort don’t have this one, but I’d say it’s better than their Quorma as the most comparable.
- Their chicken leg/thigh has 0 creepy ligaments and no parts that tried to break my teeth – just succulent chicken
- VERY rich curry: Feels generous
- Garlic Naan == 4.5/5 vs Masala Zone 5/5
- Cheese Naan == 4/5 vs Masala Zone 5/5
- Gulab Jamun == 3/5 vs Masala Zone 5/5
- It’s not dense enough - feels more like Japanese style
The Naan was almost as good as Masala Zone, buttt not quite. Needs more thickness and density to it. The taste and texture is there, though.
They said Uber’s coming soon, but they’re too new so haven’t applied yet.
Overall, I’d say a solid 4.5 out of 5. Has some room to improve, but barely needs it as what’s most important is already 5/5.
Thank you for the granular detail.
I did not expect this blow-by-blow comparison with “Masala Zone.” It’s interesting that this shop is your point of reference.
Anyways, based on the dishes you like it seems these guys are serving some form of northern Indian food. Though I have not tried any Indian food in Xinzhuang, Paneer Lababdar is generally speaking one of my favourites, as is Kadai paneer.

Hehe Masala Zone + Red Fort are the only 2 available to Xinzhuang via Uber! [Edit: Before now, there were 0 Indian restaurants here – 0 in ZhongHe too] They’re sorta my “go-to”. Sometimes I’ll order a curry dish from Red Fort and just Naan from Masala Zone (poor Uber drivers - I’ll tip them ).
Yeah, that was my first time having that! There are many items listed (it’s a HUGE MENU) that I’ve never actually seen before. This will keep me busy for years!
I see you have been hooked.
This sounds familiar.
