Really? I thought this “2nd Amendment” thing predated Canada by around a century. You folks had a game plan way before we showed up.
More to the point: Americans don’t need Canadians to figure out their sh&t. You folks are good at problem solving, absolutely world class, so figure this out.
Texas school shooter made chilling boast about $4K plot to Wendy’s co-workers & quit when he’d saved enough for 2 AR-15s
Ramos’ former co-workers at Wendy’s described the teen to The US Sun as a ‘rude, creepy and scruffy’ guy
“He told us he was saving up money for guns and ammo. We would ask him, ‘Why would you spend your money on that, spend it on a car or something useful,’” Cruz said, adding that Ramos quit after he had saved enough.
This is called substitution theory and has been proven wrong in studies on suicide prevention.
Here’s the argument: If someone is determined to kill 20 people at a school, then they’ll find a way.
Reality: The more restrictions you put in place, the less likely people will be successful.
If someone is suicidal, would you hand them a gun? Surely not. If you limit that person’s access to guns, pills and only leave them two razors would they still commit suicide? The vast majority would not. A bullet to the head is much easier then slitting your wrists. Just like an AR-15 is much easier than an axe. If people only had axes, the result would be much less death.
5 - Psychological background screenings for most gun owners.
6- Restrictions on taking home ammunition.
There are no comparable developed countries with a lack of restrictions around guns like the United States. The often cited examples of Switzerland and Israel have more restrictions than we do.
That happen in all kinds of public places.
Went back to car in back parking lot of motel one time with key-card and the motel back door had been propped open with a rock. I kicked it away. Used my key-card to get back in and made sure the door shut and locked.
Condo in U.S. has a gate that opens the car garage and there’s a sensor on side of gate outside. Thieves put tape over the sensor and thus car garage gate will not close, and they can get in (and have) to steal cars or bash windows of cars to grab valuables.
That teacher will not have an easy rest of her life thinking about this.
“We as a state - we as a society - need to do a better job with mental health. Anybody who shoots somebody else has a mental health challenge. Period. We as a government need to find a way to target that mental health challenge and do something about it.”
I wonder who it was who asked why these types of school shooting only happen in America? That’s a pretty good question, I can think of one possible explanation. But I doubt anyone would like it.
Well, let’s say the goal is to ban guns and you are of the opinion the ends justify the means, what kind of shooting results in most furious and angry response from the public. The answer to that we know, it’s a school shooting.
Are you suggesting he’s wrong, that people who randomly shoot people or plan and execute mass murder with firearms aren’t suffering from mental health issues?
