I find their stuff overpriced. It’s become kind of a tourist trap really.
It definitely can be, but a bit of rifling through the bargain bins will generally produce a pretty good deal. There are also other, smaller fabric stores nearby that tend to offer better prices. And if you frequent a particular store in the market (they’re numbered) they will be willing to bargain with you. There’s a few I always visit who basically know me by now.
There’s a good fried stinky tofu stand near the market that I always have to stop by when I visit.
Yeah, there are actually lots of interesting little stores selling all kinds of weird stuff in that neighborhood, which makes the area worth a visit.
“Button Road” is fun. All kinds of specialty stores.
