Zr7-s / cbf600

Once again I need you guys opinion on BB…After riding my CB400 for 4 months, I found out that I’m not a revvy engine kind of guy, meaning that I don’t like to have to rev the engine high to get the bike’s full power, which is the characterisic of CB400 engine…I want a bike that has more torque at lower rpm…so what you guys think about ZR7-S or CBF600?..BTW, I’m planning to buy the 2nd hand one since the price of those bikes not quite far from my CB400 if I sell it…for 2003 ZR7-S, I probably don’t even have to put more money

Any thoughts?

BTW, I know there is a female who is riding ZR7-S…I don’t know if she is member of this forum but I’d really like to hear her thought on her ride…so *****hawk, if you read this, I appreciate it if u could share some of your opinion…

Tks all…

Well…there’s alway this to meet your wants…

Evidently the ZR7 has some bad reviews.

Sorry to break the bad news to you. But I have ridden both those bikes, and to be honest, you would be better off just keeping your CB400 rather than getting either one of those. They both have very little low-end power, and pull only slightly better than your CB400 ar the high-end. For the money you would lose selling the CB400, why not buy a new rear spocket with 2-3 more teeth to help with low-end power, and a FCR which would add almost 6hp to your bike.

“Bush Guards”, eh? You’re one sick monkey :howyoudoin: .

Notice that the “B” is in capitals for Bush…could it be in reference to a certain political figure?

…To stay on topic. motorcycle rider is right. Your CB400 has more potential than the ZR-7S and CBF600. I suggest the same mods as above, however I would downsize the front sprocket by 1 tooth and raise the rear by 1.(keeps low power city riding smooth VS upping the rear by severeal teeth.)…

…then save your cash and get yourself a Z750, CB1300 or FZ1000 in the future…cheers

Thanks for the advice guys…so nobody recommend those two bikes, huh?..maybe I’ll try the sprocket thing first…

I love the Z750s but since it’s still pretty new, It’s hard to find a good 2nd hand one… :frowning:…BTW, is Z750 engine as revvy as CB400?

For V-twin engine, what bike do you guys recommend? no ducati please, too expensive

The Z750 sits well in between a revy 600 and torquey 1000, so it has a more useable mid-range with more torque lower down than a 600 but with most of it’s power output higher up. That’s why it’s quite popular with lots of riders. The ZR-7s is an outdated bike that is outclassed and outperformed by most 600s of the same type nowadays.

As far as V-Twins. Suzuki imports the acclaimed SV1000. These bikes are a sweet deal at the moment. The SV1000s has gotten really good reviews in Europe as well as excellent sales. However, here in the land of showing off, most guys will get a Ducati due to it’s “posing” effect. But the good thing is that there are some smart guys out there who picked up SV1000s and really shamed their buds with the best bang for your buck coming from the SV1000. In Taiwan, A brand new SV1000S will cost you from 400,000$Nt ~ 420,000$nt…that’s a good 140K cheaper than the newest 4-cyl sportbikes.

In the latest reviews and tests that I read in BIKE magazing from the UK. they only had good things to say about the SV. From it’s comftorbale seating position, the bullet proof engine, build quality and useability.

Anyways, it’s down to what you want. The SV is a sweet deal and an awsome performer compared to what you’d pay to get equal performance from a Ducati.

On the other hand, you have the Z750s that is less sporty but still cool and useable.

If I had to chose between either, I would chose the SV over the Z. I like twins and the fun factor that the SV offers.

Here’s a pic and a link to one for sale.

Well guys i have been riding the ZR7S for over 3 years now, and i personally love it. a few people have ridden it and quiet liked it. Of course if you want a speed demond bike then this isn’t the one. but it’s comfortable gets to 180kph easily and with metzler tires holds the road like shit.
I refuse to sell my bike.

I’m now having the suspension changes as i’m not the lightest person in the world and i like things HARD :sunglasses:

Well that’s all i have to say on the matter.

BTW, nice paint job on your bike UKbikerchic. Past by Peterson’s a few weeks ago and saw it being washed. Can’t believe you allow someone else to touch your baby, let allow wash it.

Sweetie, i don’t have time to wash my bike, and the guys do a great job for me
They don’t dare let anything happen to it. :fume:

I was really pissed off this saturday, some one in Kaushung has copied my dog, the exact same dog as the one on my tank. I called the people who did my bike and they said they knew nothing about it. peterson said that someone probably took a pic or got the pics from the magazine and got it done. i was not a happy bunny. :fume: :fume:
why can’t some people have a bit of originality :raspberry: They just don’t want me to get hold of them or their bike, that’s all i can say.

Getting the suspension and chain changed very soon. WP suspension

Now i’m just praying for some nice weather so i can get out there and ride. This weekend looks like it will be good.
Monet and Jou Fen here i come. :sunglasses:

Taiwan, the land of piracy. Anyway, maybe I’ll see you at Monet this weekend.

Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

I don’t want to be flattered, :raspberry:

He is just lucky he’s in Kaushung, otherwise he would have a very hot bike, and by hot i mean “IN FLAMES”

Monet saturday, looks like good weather.
early morning set off, 7-8am

Jou fen, tea mountains, swang shi, all the roads i love. Just me and my little “Mad Dog” (and anyone who wants to join me)

I love sunny weekends

I’ll be there…I’ll be the guy riding a pink 50cc scooter with one dog in the basket and another between my feet (was going to say between my legs…but I know how some of you forumosians are… :stuck_out_tongue: ).

Time??

I’ll be there around 8 am. I’ll be the guy on the noisy DR-Z400SM.

Won’t he look like a jerk riding his bike while half the riding population in Taiwan knows he copied it from you, well I guess you can take it as a complement.
