Zune MP3 players freeze worldwide

Zune players
Baffled consumers are griping about a mysterious glitch that appeared to cause thousands of Zune music players to simultaneously stop working late Tuesday and early Wednesday.
Microsoft issued the first Zune portable music player in 2006 to compete with the iPod.

Internet message boards have been flooded with complaints about Zune’s 30GB models freezing, prompting Y2K-like speculation about end-of-year hardware or software problems.

“It seems that every Zune on the planet has just frozen up and will not work,” posted a Mountain Home, Idaho, user on CNN’s iReport.com. “I have 3 and they all in the same night stopped working.”
Another reason why Apple products rock!

so this affects about 100 people…hmmm.

Microsoft says the bug is related to the leap year adding one extra day in 2008. They said it’ll fix itself come 1/1/09.

Google search for shit ipod (8.8 million results)
Google search for shit zune (512 thousand results)

I’m no Apple fanboi, but being fair there are about a million times more ipods out there than Zunes! Oh, and there could also be a lot lower expectations from a Microsoft device. I mean, what product has Miscrosoft ever put out that would lead anyone to think the Zune would be reliable or function as intended?

Clearer?

Yeah. Too subtle for me.

joesax, forgive the poor word users (Not Word, does anyone still use that apart from at work?) down below who lack the ability to read intention from tiny, poor quality pictures. Suveys show that people who use smilies as a method of discourse are 14 and/or irritating.
