2020 USA Presidential Elections Latest

Seriously. I’m chocking it up to political theater.

I don’t want to play identity politics…but I couldn’t have picked a whiter group of people to run for the Democrats. They look like people who think mayonnaise is spicy. Gone are the days of Obama with some flavor.

Bernie isn’t messing with mayo. That’s got cholesterol which clogs the heart.

But, there’s Buttigieg. So…¯_(ツ)_/¯

IMHO, they would have a better chance bringing Oprah in the race. But honestly, anyone but Bernie Sanders. I wouldn’t think it’s the end of the world if any of them beat trump besides sanders.

If Oprah entered can Williamson be her VP, then we can all live out best lives while getting benefits for everyone!!! /s

Enough with the billionaires in office. Give me someone who can be decent, but not take shit, work both sides of the aisle when necessary and keep the economy growing while working with our allies.

Expand, if possible?

I like Tulsi when I hear her speak.

Patrick…I can’t say that I know a lot about him but think that in a sane world, he would be a leading candidate.

Bernie…I totally get the appeal and could envision a universe in which I would vote for such a guy.

Of course, do we really believe that Bernie, who has never passed serious legislation in four decades, would be able to get his ideas through Congress? Granted, it would be dangerous for the party to need to rally behind an avowed socialist but, I don’t think that Bernie would get things done.

When I heard Tulsi speak on the issues (when she got any time) I didn’t get a sense that she could see the nuances of them. She’s also too young. I think she’s 36? This job needs some youthfulness but also needs life experience.

Bernie’s ideas worked in the late-1960s. Maybe if we hadn’t gone thru the Vietnam War and kept working toward the idea of equality then maybe. But the world doesn’t have room for that anymore.

Some great responses in there.

OK, I get that.

I do think that you coming to the conclusion that Bernie’s ideas won’t work isn’t the same as not understanding the appeal of such ideas. The vast majority of his supporters weren’t around in the 1960s. Many of them weren’t around during the Cold War even. The terms ‘class warfare’ and ‘to each according to his need’ sound like innovative ideas.

He looks to be in good position to get the nomination. Both the front runners are unelectable in the general though. Dem Dems be done fer.

What does he do with mayo?

Nothing. He’s more of a pudding kind of guy.

In still think Steyer is the one who can actually implement the things the Dems claim they want, but it’s obviously all lip service.

Tulsi’s campaign for a regular appearance on Fox News is going well.
And, hey, I remember when righties were assuring us that it was impossible for a white person to ever win the Democratic nomination again.

Can you post some examples? I’ve never heard this argument before, and I doubt that you have, either.

I don’t.

But with Yang dropping out of the race, it’s a monumental day in the history of rights for white people.

The elite tend to be out of touch and without self awareness.

I think she actually talked herself into believing she was a Cherokee. Then she talked herself into believing she could relate to ordinary people.

That someone like her came this far in politics tells us something about Massachusetts.

She should’ve pretended to be Wampanoag…
