4 lesbians torture and murder lesbian in Taichung

This is a very strange and disturbing story my wife pointed it out to me in the back sheets of the liberty times yesterday.

There was a group of 5 lesbians (edit- 4 lesbians and then 1 Internet male friend) who hung around together and lived near each other in Taichung. They formed husband-wife relationships and one of them swapped partners.

This created rancor in the group. Somehow the ex husband of the wife went to the new husband and convinced her this lady was poisonous and betraying the rules of the group and deserved to be punished.

They tied the victim up and proceeded to torture her for 18 days straight. They sliced her skin over 100 times. They cut her nipples off. They burned her with cigarettes including on her tongue and the soles of her feet. They sexually abused her with some type of brush. The victim died from organ failure after enduring 18 days of this.

I haven’t seem anything in the English news yet or on the TV. Maybe something will appear today? There are some accounts in the Chinese press. The investigators say it is the worst torture and murder case they have come across in 20 years.

This is disturbing and strange to me on multiple levels. How could people do this to their lover and friend?
How can women do this? Is it connected to their isolation or psychological issues that caused this extreme behaviour?
How could it proceed for so long until her death?

Lastly why have I not see this on TV or in the English papers? Is it because they are lesbians, the case is so lurid, the government and society are embarrassed or is it because I have missed it somehow?

They bring back the need of a speedy trial and execution. Taiwan has of late gone soft on crime. This illustrates how some people ( i use the term people loosely here) deserve to be sent back to their Creator and pronto.

Psychological behaviour. De-individuation within the group. (aka going with the flow) We lose a sense of ourselves pretty quickly. Bystander effects, stampeding, racist chanting at sporting events etc etc. People stumble out of the haze and wonder what the hell they were doing. In some cases the consequences are horrific. In this case de-individuation lead to a very extreme set of new norms being established. These people should be removed permanently from society as they are certainly psychologically ruined for life and very little of societal worth will be salvageable. And it is an utter tragedy for the victim and her family. Sexual preference will have played a small part in this, not because of their choice of sexuality but because minority (marginalised?) groups simply do not have mainstream discourses, thus enabling the creation of a minority discourse and rules to flourish. Kind of a martial law.

Although I would say it is mainly marginalisation of this group that caused them to establish their own norms Lord of the Flies like (or as you more eloquently put it), I did a search for ‘lesbian torture’ to see if I can find more info in the English language press.
Shit…there is a huge amount of this ‘lesbian torture’ genre porn available online, pages and pages of links. I wonder was this part of it. They did mention sexual abuse and use of dog collar to chain the victim. They invited their male internet friend later on to join the proceedings.

The other thing that came to my mind, was that women scorned can be very vindictive and cruel. The seeming motivation (as put forward by the perpetrators, take with a large pinch of salt), was that she was ‘playing them’ and ‘cheating on them too much’. Even though they play the role of man-wife they are all women. Now multiply that by 3 and with group dynamics and obviously pre-existing psychological issues it becomes something much worse.

Anyway, it’s a terrible and sad story, and these people need to rot in jail.

Another explanation, once offered to me by a young man at the Greyhound Bus Station in Los Angeles, with respect to an angry young female he had an argument with in front of me, “that chick is in serious need of some dickin’”.

FWIW, there’s a huge amount of torture porn available online period. No special relevance to lesbians. That goes for the crime as well, though I think SK’s point about marginalization could well be valid. GIT’s about being fucked in the head is simpler and more applicable however.

Saw this in a newspaper lying around on a table yesterday, but couldn’t make out the details (don’t want to know, frankly). But I don’t think you can draw any conclusions about society in general from this. It’s an outlier. Similar things happen in other societies with about equal frequency, I’d guess. It’s natural to ask “how the fuck did nobody notice what was going on?”. I’m sure they took steps to make damn sure they weren’t discovered. The Nazis managed to hide entire concentration camps from public scrutiny, didn’t they?

Yeah, what else can you say? Although I agree with superking’s observation about group dynamics, I doubt that’s the whole story. It is surprising nobody ever noticed these people had something deeply wrong with them.

I think there comes a point (as in cases like this) when punishment loses any meaning. Any punishment that fit the crime would degrade the society that administered it. All you can do is lock them away and make sure they never see the light of day again.

Has this article and the details been verified or cited by other news? just curious. the description echoes the infamous “death by a thousand cuts”, an old imperial punishment for treason (and parricide)(which the Chinese equated: father-emperor, father-father). though supposedly, they did kill you first after the first cut.

But that is what came to my mind too. In fact it always does, whenever women are involved in torturing crimes. Somehow and maybe I’m perpetuating stereotypes, but a crime of passion or money swindling is sth. I can understand women doing, even voluntary prostitution but prolonged torture?? And this case seems more bizarre (to me) coz there are two women involved. Somehow a man-woman duo dynamic in committing crimes is more easily digestible. Yes, I know it is stereotyping, but in my (feminine) head, I’d be happier thinking that women are incapable of prolonged brutality. :s

Long ago I was disabused of the notion that women are any kinder or gentler than men. I’ve seen some horror shows of abuse and neglect committed by both genders since I go to homes to work with infants and toddlers. Sadly, I am not surprised by this act, nor by the participants. I doubt that gender or sexual preference had much to do with it compared to learned behaviors and group psychology.

i HONESTLY cant begin to think of the abject horror these people and again i use the term people loosely here subjected that woman to.

Such a long long session of torture resulting in final death. Cutting off a womans nipples? That to me does it. IF i was an angel of death, i would visit these perps. And i would let them suffer for a very long time.

Death penalty is too good for these perps. Life in prison without parole is what Id give them as a judge.
