A day in the life of an Audi TT

That auto doesn’t get great reviews.

lambos and lotuses probably aren’t for you then.

Well if I could afford either one I guess I could suffer a little? In the name of art

This would be wild for Tammy
But 6k is too much
However just the driving experience at 1450 is nice

I did the driving experience in 2012 or 13 forgot and it was 1350 I think and at Sonoma raceway

Was awesome

Meet at 830 at the lounge trackside
Hotel style bfast then 30 mins on aiming for the cones and the track layout and how to sit properly in an R8. (Was v8 then )

Then some cone courses in S4 then finally a 5 lap set think it was in the S4

Then a great lunch and the afternoon was four 5 lap sets in the R8

Great fun but by the 3rd set it was feeling like WORK for me and I had enough

This would be great for Tammy now she’s had 7 years behind the wheel

What I’m going to save for first is about 350 x 2 for two sets in Vegas one in a Ferrari and one in a lambo

Think Tammy will like that she can do the mambo lambo and I can do the Ferrari

She doesn’t like Ferrari because Enzo was a dick to ferrucio in the Ferrari lambo movie lol

They should pick October because this time of year in SF is horrible
Everyday all day fog and drizzle and temp in fifties at night and low too in day time

Horrible
Weather for an outside music event

Stupid fcuks who pick this time of year

Still sold out ands tons of people suffering so …organizers don’t care

I only know Kendrick Lamar, Foo Fighters, and The 1975.

Rest look like filler, or maybe I’m old and out of touch.

Some of the headliners arrive and depart in a motor home/bus with police escorts

I wonder who got those besides maybe Lana del Rey

At least the sun seems to have poked it’s head out now at 9am Sunday last day of the event
I hope everyone gets an awesome weather day as sometimes happens here in the sunset

They all be fillers to me
Wouldn’t pay a buck to see anyone of the line up

Meg thee Stallion? freaking Shaq?!

No idea

Saw that but it didn’t click. Assumed it was an ironic bandname.

I had another look and recognise Soccer Mommy from her NPR Tiny Desk concert. Also vaguely know Lana Del Ray.

Tahoe sunset

Tammy having a quick go in an RS5

She likes the interior but felt the TT more agile in corners rightly so

Glad it’s over Now I can cycle and drive through again

Unfortunately :

This is next
And will tie up the park till the end of august
At
Least it’s free

Maybe I will go for a bit

Car week in monterey is on currently. Its a whole week of events some of which are very costly to attend. We are talking 1000 bucks or more or so. And some events are cheaper and/or free. There is one event that seems quite fun…something like over a hundred private jets for sale that you can tour on the ground while sipping champagne,…but that event costs something like a thousand bucks to attend…so pass…Not looking to buy a private jet but will be fun to board a few on the ground just to see how it is? Last year I went and reported on here when i went for just a wednesday at the track where i saw a bunch of classic cars on the track and that was pretty cool. I did NOT take my TT because I thought just my prius will do. I am debating whether to spend this sunday (last day of the car week) and do a monterey run . Supposedly there will be lots of nice cars just flaunting about carmel and monterey to spot. Trying to get a bud to go with me as Tammy will be visiting Japan and Korea with a coupla friends (shes never been outside of at the airport during a transit) and that should be a fun ten days for her and company. A bud may go on the sunday drive to monterey with me and i may take the TT this time. At least the drive on highway 1 there and back should be more fun in the TT. However, if two of my friends (and i really only have two of those in these parts) decide to go we will have to Prius it as who wants to sit in the back seat of the TT ridiculous to even think of it, as its only fit for luggage or a small dwarf. Its about 220 miles round trip I think. The prius is expected to save 50pct of the expected 50 dollar gas bill so saving 25 bucks but then why have a TT and not use it ? Especially as the wifey will be away and nobody to stop me driving it…haha,…hoho…hehe…

who knows if i will even bother to go…should I? i mean it may be just a go just to go thing. and say that you have gone ?

https://whatsupmonterey.com/article/activities/monterey-car-week-overview

didnt go…went to gym and went to see GRAN TURISMO instead. good flick, worth seeing.

My wife’s been wanting to get down that way, she’s never seen the Hearst place, but the weather isn’t exactly the best right now. :joy:

The castle is still some distance further south of Monterey and yes they are having a once in a hundred years typhoon down there currently so this week probably won’t be good

I’m not sure the SLO area got any rain from the storm.

Well we in Bay Area have nothing so far
Probably SLO is safe too
Down in that area we want to stay at the Allegretto vineyard resort in near by paso Robles one of these days
Weekday rates can be 250 ish but Friday and Saturday nights can be 3 to 4 times higher which is not worth it

Beautiful place

Apparently you can swim in the pool at the Hearst castle limited opening for a mere 1000 dollars currently

Crazy right ?

Gotta be a member too ($500/yr), so $1500 min.

For the truly insane

I can laze in my bathtub for the cost of the hot water

oh, and the pool isn’t even heated!

Hearst Castle, btw, was kind of disappointing to me. It’s a cool ass property and grounds, but the built quality is total shite. I guess it’s cool to do once, but I’d rather hang out and watch the elephant seals, or head down to Morro Bay and watch the otters.
