Lowest power by far, relatively not that fun to drive (squishiest suspension, which was kind of a surprise for a vw, but that’d be a benefit for.others). More expensive when specced out. Crappy entertainment system.
As for looks, I don’t like the face of the Tesla, but it’s got a nice side profile. the id.4 is downright ugly from the side (but has a pretty nice front 3/4).
Well well little missey wife has found a new bestie to go on foodie and fine cafe haunts when hubby doesn’t feel like breaking out the wallet and driving 100 plus miles to eat some fancy dessert
On Saturday she and her best bestie (which means anyone of the handful who is available at short notice ) went to Le garage in Sausalito for some French food surrounded she said by French speakers most of whom were rather old
I do see that in Sausalito I mean I do often hear French spoken Me thinks it’s a popular place possibly for French Canadians to visit to escape the cold
Same for Monterey and Carmel . I often hear French spoken around those parts too. Probably rich French Canadians visiting or perhaps they own homes there?
I can’t see the draw for French French who have similar towns in France. Nice anyone ?
And that the crowd was older …well understandable considering the prices!!
Yesterday I did my thing and she went to Palo Alto to a Singaporean kopitiam which she said was good and we should try
Well on her way there she spots a new white TT like hers driven by a young Asian lady so she promptly passes her in her white TT also driven by a young Asian lady and she passed her back and again she passes her until the other one got off the freeway at her destination
I said let’s ease off the pedal here and not do that always let the other guy / gal win the traffic ticket !!!
I guess in these days of the ubiquitous teslas it’s rare to see two new white TT jostling with each other on the flea way
I have a Y, and i would only recommend it if you have a “need for speed”. In every other respect pretty much anything else will be more functional, (knobs! automatic wipers that work!) and more confortable, quieter etc.
The Y has some issues, but almost everything drivetrain related / affected is better than most competitors, and it’s not just speed - charging infrastructure, range, packaging (the space in the Y is ridiculous for the size of the vehicle). And “drivetrain related” is obviously a big part of what makes a car a car. IMO, it’s overall a great appliance car, that also happens to go like a bat outta hell.
OK so in case a day in the life of a TT is not exciting i.e. boring enough. How about a day in the life of a tommy 525?
Like today for example, I finally get to sit down it’s like 10 o’clock at night and I finally get to vegetate in front of the tv again
Tommy 525s day today started about 6 AM when the wife got out of bed and went to take a whiz and left the door open and my alarm cat ( only one of three that does this ) came in and promptly spent great efforts to wake my ass up. She succeeded.
Got up it’s a day off for me today. The wifey had to work and I drive her to work so I chauffeured her ass over to her work a couple miles away in the TT got myself back and washed two cars did a load of laundry at home and then I got to watch a couple hours of TV and then I had to go get my eye exam in Daly city.
About two weeks ago I had my annual physical and I’m happy to report. I passed with pretty much flying colors and I was so happy with the test results. I went on an extra long bike ride and I’m not sure if this had anything to do with it but that evening, my right eye just before bed started Going off like some sort of small fireworks just happened and I got little flashes of light here there and everywhere I thought that was freaking weird. What the heck is going on here with the right eye not the left eye only the right in the morning I woke up and I had like spots in my eye. I’ve never seen before. My right eye
Read up on this and discovered that this could be something serious so I made an appointment and today I got to have my eye exam which is the second exam I’ve had of my eyes in my whole life and the last time I was about 10 years ago so they dilate your eyes and then they carefully look over everything and what the doctor said iwas pretty interesting. She said as we get older and yes I’m getting older the the back of the eyeball theres some sort of gel material that’s kind of sticky and part of it, like the back part of it sticks to your eyesocket, it’s sort of like a glue and it sticks to the eyesocket and as you age this glue starts to deteriorate, and eventually the back of your eye becomes unstuck and then at that point you start seeing some flashes of light because this is happening to your eyeball and it could Result in some floaters. If you get floaters, they are pretty much permanent. in time some might drift to another position, but pretty much you are stuck with it. I never even knew what floaters were What the hell is that a floater so now, my right eye had this black spot and then I had these two white hair like Things that sort of drift across the eye and they don’t move in the same direction so it’s like weird something I’ve never had before but the doctor said that my eye was fine, but I had to be careful because if you see partial vision or if somehow, there’s a black curtain or there’s a steady flash of light or something it could mean a retinal tear and that’s a emergency, and you have to get that fixed straight away or you could actually end up even going blind and that I so thank God there’s no evidence of any retinal tear was happening to my right eye was just normal and apparently to detach itself from the eyesocket I guess you know maybe not completely but small bit of it in some matter or distortion of whatever I’m not an eye doctor somehow created floaters and where as if your lens of your eye goes bad as you get old, you can get that replaced. There’s not a whole lot they can do about floaters, except to drain out the gel in your eyeball and replace it with a synthetic gel which they typically don’t do unless it’s something very major you have going on with your eyes so that’s not something you really want to do I guess , the weird thing was that after she applied this pupil whitening solution then I was not able to see very well so my right eye and she put more drops in the right eye because It was one she’s really examining so I could kind of halfway to see it with my left eye, and I was able to drive the five or 6 miles home very carefully But I took that opportunity to go to a couple hours of laundry because I could sit in my seat in my car and relax so that was OK then picked up the wifey and then we had a great Indian dinner at a restaurant called the rose. We never been to before then I dropped her off at home and then I got back in the TT and I went to buy some stuff at Costco really a chance for me to get out of the house and drive the car so relax a bit. It was a little bit scary seeing the doctor didn’t want to get bad results then when I got back was able to get in about 4 miles bike riding before the sun went down turns out to be a pretty good day
Enjoy your eyesight and may you not get floaters till u be real old
Not sure I explained the eye thing all correctly just what I thought I heard
Half of the Golden Gate Park is fenced off for the weekend Outland Lands festival which is a three day event full of bands sort of a well behaved Yasgurs Farm thing
Vip three day pass 5000us dollars OMG
Daily no frills pass near 500
The only name I recognize is Lana del ray and I wouldn’t pay 50 bucks to see her I mean she’s got like one song and that’s it
Anyway the thing ain’t for me it’s for the young uns who can stay all day long out there I guess it must be fun
Tammy says there was like a police motorcade yesterday someone famous must be arriving
Motorcade went by our house as we are near sunset Blvd
In more important news the TT big brother the R8 is going out in 2023 and that’s ok I’m kinda ok with the car now that it’s been out a while and I got to drive it
What I really want is the huracan which is 100k more for the same chassis and engine and built by Italians instead of Germans (not generally a good thing )
But that too is going away this year
Better go down to the local lambo dealer and pick one up
Ooops forgot I’m about 300k short of the 300k price
Now the huracan really looks nice ! But that kinda look has been so much mimicked it’s kinda long in the tooth now
What is more (somewhat) or I mean less of s pipe dream is the new lotus
I like the 4 cylinder auto with the AMG engine
But honestly the v6 engine from Toyota is going to last and last
But that ones a stick no more sticks for me
I honestly prefer driving my automatic Prius then the stick shift RSX which has rock hard suspension
The TT though has the same rock hard suspension
Not tracking I’d rather go with some thing more springy
