I walked past a pop-up luxury goods store in a shopping mall; like a duty-free surplus or something. Got a bottle of this for around 850nt because it seemed like a good deal. Decent value
Does JW Green have the same basic peated profile of Black?
Smoke and light peat. I’m not sure how it compares to JW Black in this regard. But then the beauty is that it’s all malt so there’s very little spiciness and it’s replaced with malty sweetness. It’s a bargain at around 850 nt compared to other whiskies in the same class.
Would be interested, but, um, COVID and all that.
just be sure to disinfect liberally with single malt alcohol!
We might not have a choice.
Thanks for the invite. Guess it will have to wait for a while.
Toilet paper. Check. Water. Check. Instant noodles. Check. Ginormous bottle of some good single malt. Check.
So this is the lockdown hobby thread now?
sigh so jealous right now!
About what? The good single malt? Just get some very decent Johnnie Walker red. Under 200nt for a small bottle at 7-11. Plenty good enough. Find a friend and get a bottle each. Or just continue all by yourself, or rather, together with the moon and your shadow.
A jug of wine in the midst of flowers
drinking alone, no family or friends
I raise the cup to toast the bright moon
and my shadow-- that makes three of us.
The moon doesn’t know how to drink
and my shadow is my servant
For now I’ll take the moon and my shadow
happy until the end of spring
I sing, the moon swings back and forth
I dance, my shadow acts crazy.
When we’re sober we’re happy together
When drunk we scatter apart
Eternally bonded-- friendlessly wandering
Time together as far away as the clouds and the stars

I did a whiskey tasting in Edinburgh yesterday and had a private tour and guide to explain all the different whiskeys in Scotland. I’ve come to realized I prefer speyside whiskey with a sweet caramel taste. I also like to use Islay to cook.
Great! What would you cook with Islay?
Pork chops usually works well for me.
With like a cream sauce?
Yeah. With some bacon there as well.
What is it?
Can’t go wrong.
Nice pic.
I actually did that recently. Didn’t really enjoy it. Got to go Johnnie Black or better.
