Activities and fun things to do Taipei for the young at heart

i think its not too bad but compared with laser tag abroad its quite a joke. constantly ran into others there as it is more like a maze than an actual „map“

I am in Tamsui and like board games.

I am not in Taiwan full time though. Off an on.

Sadly our group situation is still the same: we barely, if ever, meet to play. But I’m trying to regroup us. In the meantime I’m playing some solo games, plus a lot of kid’s games.

What kind of games do you play?

Thanks for the info.

I play all types of board games, but prefer games under 1 hour. I love kids games (they usually are fast and not complicated). Have also played things like Dominion. I also like chess (blitz).

I also am a hobbyist game designer, so I have studied games a bit. Have played over 50-100, I think.

I generally don’t do serious Collectible Card Games, which I know are popular in Taiwan. MTG, pokemon, Yugioh, etc. It just takes too long to get to competition level and there are too many. I will play casually if the people are not too intense.

Can I DM you?

I am what we call in Spanish a culoduro (hard-ass). I tend to prefer long and complex games, mostly euros, so a tough ass is an advantage to endure long games.

Here are the games I have here in Taiwan. My wife and my daughter have some others, but those are not included here. I also have some more games in Spain, but who knows when I will be able to bring them over here.

Nice, and fair. We all like what we like. Euros can be fun, but it’s gotta be the right crowd, and often it isn’t good for me until the 3rd or 4th play. And that’s just a lot of time commitment.

I’ve played or watched played once: Splendor, Hanabi, Concordia

I’ve played or watched more than once: Tichu and 6 Nimmt. I’d play both again.

From your games, I’m most curious and would try Hive and LeHavre.

My games are in the USA, but I enjoy Dominion, Ricochet Robots, and social deduction games (example: One Night Ultimate Werewolf).

Do you know the card game “No Thanks”?

Thanks for your DM (just got it). Let’s continue this there so we don’t spam others too much. But if someone is reading, you should DM us if you are interested in this.
