Age gap relationships

giphy (3)

Recently I found out that a woman is not actually a man.

Not really looking/dating with money/sugar in mind. I just prefer an older partner. I also worry that age gap relationships arent as common here and therefore the person i have an interest in will think im interested for money/some sort of gain

Ok, F-22, you have my attention.

M-38 here. Wassaup :smirk:

What’s the age difference between you and the guy if you haven’t noted it yet?

I can go better with at least 5 years.

Damn. You beat me. I’m not quite old enough to be her father, but you are!

Like last guy i went out with? About 40 i believe. Im also open to a relationship with an older woman, unfortunately i havent had the chance to find one yet. Im also not quite sure how the dating culture in taiwan works so any tips on that would help a lot too

Maybe you can apply to some jobs at Taiwan companies. Workplace romances with the boss is quite common here. Korea is also a good place for that.

“When it came to demographics, 47.6% of female employees had dated their male bosses”

Most Taiwanese men will be too shy to approach you. Workplace gives good opportunities for them to get to know you better. Have your boss mentor you, and if he likes your personality (or looks) he may fall in love with you.

Yep, there’s always hope.
Terry Gou met/got his young (at the time) second wife, as she was his dance instructor for Foxconn’s wei-ya (year-end party).

I think it’s better than using an online dating app or meeting some random person at the bar and later finding out they are married or cheating (which is quite common here too). At work you can fully research your prospective date, marital status, personal and financial background before committing.

Well at Bar or Coffee shop or Bus Stop, they do not know my age gap (They guess my age wrong ha), there has been times after a XX, they ask me how old are you and sometimes after many times seeing each other.

Old CV has this with photo, but in real life I do not like see this. Prefer modern CV, more professional.

Office romance like the TV show is complex and not the best idea. Not always good to see someone 24 hours over many days haha

That’s just something that Americans made up. There’s nothing wrong with dating your boss as long as you don’t receive any special treatment at work.

It is at least a bit unethical for the boss to make the first move. And foolish for the boss either way because it opens the door to potential problems. Even the appearance of favoritism can lead to resentment among other employees.

Edit: lol, quote fail

:sob: all i want is to date someone older than me not get into office politics. How do taiwanese flirt? Is it the same as the US? How does culture impact flirting? If i flirt with someone older than me will they think im only being nice/respectful to someone older than me?

Ask their Line and send them cute emoji faces.

They usually start by texting. While a daily “good morning”, “good night”, “what are you up to?”, “are you about to eat?”, “are you taking a shit?” is super annoying for most of us here (probably), the Taiwanese do that to flirt.

Of course, this is after you’ve already hung out once or twice in a group social situation.
