Alleged "gay-hate serial killer" in Ireland

It seems Ireland has serious LGBT hate issues

Maybe people were outraged about the 16 year age gap.

When he was 20 the other he was only 4.

But they’re not now, so how is that relevant? Are you seriously suggesting they were angrier about someone in their 50s dating someone in their 40s, rather than the most likely cause of it just being good ole fashioned homophobia?

I know a couple with a 14 year age gap, yet they’re freely walking around without fear of getting bludgeoned to death by an ageist mob.

There are more and more LGBT hate crimes in the West these days.

And yet all these haters watch porn probably.

One, possibly two killers in a population of five million people.

Also, that community is now LGBTQIA2S+

A couple of thoughts spring to mind. What is ‘The West’? Are there more crimes or are such crimes more easily labelled as the community becomes more defined? Are all crimes committed against that community automatically hate crimes? If crimes are committed within that community how are they recorded by the police? Does a queer stealing from a lesbian constitute a hate crime?

One would think they’re probably just better documented in the West.

But sure keep dwelling on the semantics.

What is that supposed to mean?

I means now days it is hate crime vs. many years ago it being a serial killer. Better or more detailed reporting nowdays. Not sure gay hate is higher or not, its partial it being not reported as such in the past.

In some parts of the world, anti-LGBT hate crimes aren’t even illegal.

Or they’re vastly underreported.

The alleged serial killer is from the Middle East. The killings were in the West, though.

That is not relevant at all. The point is it is rising in the West because far right politics is becoming more and more popular.

Do you have any data to prove this? And I don’t mean biased media stories.

I’m absolutely not reading any of that. If you can’t offer a synthesis of all that to back up your statement (There are more and more hate crimes committed against (?) that community) then so be it, just don’t point me to a library and expect me to close the gap.

I do not think so. There was much more far right thinking before (think war time Germany and Germany now), its just less normal now so its news.

I agree. Its like I get asked a lot, “Why are there more autistic people now?” There aren’t, it’s just the label is used more widely now.

So only killings count ? Not hate crimes? Stabbing in the eye does not count?

Yup totally agree.

Nah , way more compared to the 70s 80s 90s and post millennium. Ireland is particularly extreme just look at their recent stance on abortion.
